Condition: Good. No Edition Remarks. 200 pages. Fully bound in black leather with gilt. Main title page has been removed, engraved title page remains. Marbled end papers. Pages are moderately tanned and occasionally foxed throughout. Thumb-marking present. Heavy cracking at the hinges with exposed binding material. Binding remains firm. Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Book has a slight forward lean. Board corners are bumped.

Engraved frontispiece. 343 pp. with a small number of engravings. The book is in fair to good condition. There is quite heavy shelf-wear to the extremities of the cover and scuffing to the boards. The front hinge is beginning to crack but the binding is tight. There is light offsetting to the end papers, light marks to the front matter, there is a 1" tear to the fore edge of the fly leaf and a former owner's name written neatly to the top corner of the title page. The fore edge to one page is damaged and one bottom corner is missing. There are very occasional spots or other marks scattered throughout the book. Gift Aid no. 2410. THERE IS A SMALL MARK TO THE FIRST COUPLE OF PAGES. THE PAGES HAVE A SLIGHT KINK TO THEM. THE PAGES ARE DISCOLOURED BUT GENERALLY APPEAR CREASE FREE. ALL IN ALL A NICE EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK.

Condition: Good. xii 240pp, engraved frontispiece and 2 other plates, contemporary leather binding somewhat worn, marbled endpapers, blind stamped and gilt decorated spine with raised bands and red leather label (little worn at foot), front and rear blanks and last leaf of text heavily spotted, a few pages elsewhere and one plate also heavily spotted, early ownership signature on front blank, 12mo (173x103mm), ESTC T76275, this edition appears to be uncommon with ESTC only locating the British Library copy in the UK.

Spine split with some loss at top of spine, otherwise binding is good. Marbled endpapers. Paper is foxed and tanned and there are three ink signatures of previous owners, including one on the title page. Overall quite good.
