Boards have heavy edge-wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and rub wear all over. Book has a slight forward lean. Board corners are bumped.

Engraved frontispiece. 343 pp. with a small number of engravings. The book is in fair to good condition. There is quite heavy shelf-wear to the extremities of the cover and scuffing to the boards. The front hinge is beginning to crack but the binding is tight. There is light offsetting to the end papers, light marks to the front matter, there is a 1" tear to the fore edge of the fly leaf and a former owner's name written neatly to the top corner of the title page. The fore edge to one page is damaged and one bottom corner is missing. There are very occasional spots or other marks scattered throughout the book. Gift Aid no. 2410.
