Produced by Vladimir Fuka, a Czech artist and illustrated who designed book covers for adults and children. Fuka defected from Czechoslovakia and arrived in the U.S.A. in 1967 after his his work was banned by the Communist regime. Before leaving his home country, he was part of an unofficial group of dissident writers and artists who met at the famed Cafe Slavia in Prague. With an introduction from Emanuel Frynta, a Czech poet and translator. Further designs by Oldrich Hlavsa, a Czech painter, book designer and typographer. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light wear and fading to the extremities. The odd mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with minor age toning to the extremities. Very Good. book.
