RAFFAELLI LUCA (illustrator).

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is an exciting and in-depth exploration of the tumultuous reign of Byzantine Emperor Leo the Isaurian. Set against the backdrop of eighth-century Constantinople, the author delves into the political, religious, and personal dramas that shaped Leo's life and legacy. The book d…eftly weaves together historical events with vivid characterizations, providing a comprehensive and immersive experience for readers. Through meticulously researched details, the author brings to life the complex personalities of Leo, his court, and the patriarchs and courtiers who vied for power and influence. Beyond its historical significance, this book also explores universal themes of power, faith, and the struggle between tradition and progress. The author deftly portrays the clash between Iconoclasts and Iconodules, factions that fiercely debated the use of religious imagery, highlighting the deep religious divisions that plagued the Byzantine Empire. In exploring Leo's rule, the book also examines the wider context of the Byzantine Empire's transition from a powerful and expansive state to a more fragmented and defensive realm. Through this analysis, the author provides valuable insights into the decline of the Byzantine Empire and the challenges it faced in the face of rising external threats. Ultimately, this book is a captivating and thought-provoking exploration of a pivotal period in Byzantine history. The author's skillful storytelling and insightful analysis make this book an essential read for anyone interested in the history, culture, and religious conflicts of the Byzantine Empire. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

In 16 (cm 11 x 16,5), pp. 32. Strappetto riparato a pagina 8. Brossura editoriale. ITA.
