Condition: new. Pages: 262 Language: Estonian. Mees, kes läks vabatahtlikult Auschwitzi koonduslaagrisse. Witold Pilecki (1901-1948) oli Poola ohvitser, luuraja ning vastupanuvõitleja. Pilecki osales vastupanuliikumise Poola Salaarmee (Tajna Armia Polska) loomisel ning sai ülesandeks filtreeruda koonduslaagrisse, millest tollal veel kuigi palju ei teatud. Pilecki oli esimene, kelle kaudu sai maailm teada Auschwitzis toimuvast. Ta saatis sealt teateid umbes kaks ja pool aastat, kuni 1943. aasta kevadel põgenes. Witold Pilecki arreteeriti 8. mail 1947. Talle pandi süüks "imperialistide kasuks luuramist" ehk Poola eksiilvalitsuse heaks töötamist. 15. mail 1948 mõisteti Pilecki surma ja hukati Varssavis Mokotowi vanglas. Teda on postuumselt autasustatud Valge Kotka ordeniga, tema kohta on ilmunud palju kirjandust ning valminud mängufilmid "Pilecki" (2015) ja "Pilecki raport" (2023). 9789916175804.
