The marbleized fep has come loose, but is still present. There is no date of publication for the London, George Virtue edition, but suspect it is mid 1880s. The spine on the black leather cover is a little loose and there is edge wear at the spine ends and extremities. It is fair plus. Because of its weight and size, a bit more than the usual $4,25 will be needed for postage.

Heavy toning and dust to the textblock edges and foxing to the contents, but the faces are fully intact and securely bound. Fine overall for being over 2 centuries old.

Early owners' signatures on front endpapers. Lots of small stains and fingerprint smudges throughout the text, which is otherwise unmarked. Page 157-158 is detached but present. Blank page preceding the ads is torn at the top. Binding is a bit limp due to many years of handling. Much-used but readable. This 19th-century edition is undated, but likely from around the 1850s, and illustrated with occasional hand-colored plates.
