An antique print, guaranteed to be over 150 years old.This print is plate 13 taken from the book 'Cassell's Book of Birds" by Thomas Rhymer Jones, M.R.S., published 1869-1873 by Cassell, Petter and Galpin, London.Mounted and matted with rigid natural white backing board and cream mount, measuring A4 size 210mm x 297mm (around 8 3/8" x 11 3/4") with a window size of 133mm x 250mm (around 6 3/8" x 9 5/8") and comes in a self-adhesive cellophane bagThe print contains some foxing, a light crease down the left-hand side and minor other marking.This would make for a lovely gift and may appeal to those interested in ornithology, nature or art generally. Red Cloth. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. xviiipp; 524pp. Original cloth boards with gilt embossed lettering to the spine. Super colour chromolithographic plates of sea shore creatures illustrate the text. Significant rubbing to the head and tail of the spine with fraying of the cloth and a 1 cm split from the head of the spine. Rubbing to the edges of the boards and to the corners with some lifting of the cloth along the front edge and corner of the front board. Some rubbing tot he front edge of the front board. Some slight splitting to the front inner hinge, though the front board remains tight and firmly attached. Ink inscription to the title page and another name inscription in slightly darker ink. Clean and tight. A very good copy.
