Book is tight, square, sharp-cornered and free of any markings or flaws inside or out. With map endpapers of the Mato Grosso of Brazil. Book is Near Fine. Dust Jacket has fantastic design of jumping jaguar in full color and bust of author to front wrapping onto spine, with a full color picture of author with his spear and background of jaguar pelts. DJ is missing bottom part of spine and has been repaired with archival tape but colors are bright and DJ is more than just intact - quite attractive. Very uncommon book. "A true story of adventure in one of the wildest places on earth (the Matto Grosso of Brazil), told by a hunter who fights giant man-killing jungle cats, armed only with a spear.".

Sasha met his future wife, Edith Bray Siemel (1919-2012), in Philadelphia while on a lecture tour, and moved together to Brazil where they raised their three young children. The family's life, many adventures, and encounters with wildlife and native tribes are described in the book. Later, the couple returned to the U.S. and settled on a farm in southeastern Pennsylvania. Included are 2 maps and 8 pages of photographs. This item is printed on demand.
