    Condition: molto buono. Incisione in rame rifilata alla battuta (mm. 205x140).  Firmata nella parte inferiore del rame: "Gio. Giacomo Rossi le stampa in Roma alla Pace", a sinistra il monogramma di Adamo Scultori a destra il titolo. Alcuni critici mettono in relazione il soggetto della stampa in esame con un personaggio di giovane raffigurato nei dipinti mantegneschi dei Trionfi di Cesare (in particolare si vedano il V e il IX episodio). Allegoria della servitù, da collocarsi nella terza fase, contraddistinta dal monogramma di ĞAğ (con aste laterali convergenti) e ĞSğ sovrapposte, dal 1563 sino alla morte dello Scultori. Appartengono a questo gruppo bulini di soggetto mitologico, riproduzioni di statue antiche, e la serie di Studi di figure da Michelangelo, tratta dagli affreschi della Cappella Sistina. Esemplare con piccola mancanza nel margine laterale destro.Adamo Scultori (Mantova 1530 - Mantova 1585), noto anche come Adamo Ghisi, proveniva da una famiglia di artisti. A causa della stretta associazione della sua famiglia con l'artista Giorgio Ghisi, sua sorella Diana Scultori e lui sono stati a volte indicati dal cognome 'Ghisi'. Ricevette i primi rudimenti nell'arte incisoria nella bottega del padre, il quale lavorò a fianco di Giulio Romano a Mantova e si distinse come incisore, scultore e stuccatore. L'apprendistato di Adamo cominciò da bambino; la sua prima opera nota, la Vergine che allatta il Bambino, priva di data e derivata da un bulino di Giovan Battista, indica con orgoglio la giovane età dell'autore, undici anni, accanto alla firma 'ADAM SCULPTOR'.  L'opera incisa di Adamo e Diana Scultori, 1991, pp. 64-103; Pagani, 1992, p. 77. Bulino misure: mm 132 x 200 Il soggetto dell'incisione deriva in controparte da un disegno, ritenuto copia da Giulio Romano, conservato alla Biblioteca Reale di Torino (Inv. n. 15785) e a sua volta ispirato da alcuni rilievi dell'Altare adrianeo di Ostia. Monogramma inciso sulla pedana del carro. Sotto il soggetto: animi imperio sensuum obsequio. Esemplare nel I/III stato con le linee sottili che formano la scritta incisa in basso ancora visibili. La matrice è conservata a Roma presso la Calcografia (inv 642), al verso è inciso Un fauno che suona e una ninfa (Bellini 15). Impressione eccellente dai toni argentei impressa su carta vergellata priva di filigrana, ampi margini. Ottimo stato di conservazione.     senza rilegatura. Condition: ottimo. Bulino misure: mm  200 x 140 Da un disegno perduto di Giulio Romano. Nè la copia raimondesca, nè il disegno di Giulio all'Albertina, nè le incisioni di Ugo da Carpi e del Maestro del Dado tratte da un disegno di Raffaello con il medesimo soggetto, possono essere considerate fonti iconografiche per l'autore. Esemplare nel II/III stato con un secondo monogramma aggiunto in basso al centro e alcuni ritocchi sulla gamba sinistra di Enea e sulla lampada di Anchise. Il secondo monogramma con le aste della lettera A convergenti è stato probabilmente aggiunto dopo che Adamo si era trasferito a Roma. Si segnala che l'esemplare nel I stato indicato da Bellini all'Albertina è in realtà in II stato, con il doppio monogramma ed è piuttosto grigio. Date queste considerazioni riteniamo che sia da mettere in dubbio l'esistenza di esemplari nel I stato. La lastra è conservata presso la Calcografia Nazionale (inv. 652), al verso è inciso Due amorini e un delfino (Bellini 16).  Nel II stato, rifilato e meno fresco, anche l'esemplare al British Museum. Impressione straordinaria con graffi di pulitura visibili nella zona bianca in basso, impressa su carta vergellata leggera priva di filigrana. Buoni margini. Ottimo stato di conservazione.
