Thick octavo, 2 blank leaves, two engraved frontispiece leaves with tissue guard, xx, (19)-536pp, 3 blank leaves at rear, a total of 16 engraved plates within the page count, in publisehr's green pebbled cloth stamped in blind, and gilt, brown endpapers (shaken, front hinge tender but holding, not quite tight within text block, covers quite worn, faded, frays to spine ends and corners, else a good, unsophisticated copy).

Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. This first edition copy of this book is solid and tight. There are some illustrations and the front free end paper is missing and has some library - style book tape strengthening it. The front End papers are scuffed and soiled. The pages are clean and there are some b/w illustrations. Covers are scuffed and corners are bumped and worn. There is some edge wear, also.

The full title is "Ten Year in Wall Street; or, Revelations of Inside Life and Experience on 'Change." Illustrated by Arthur Lumley. 8vo. 536 pages plus one page of ads. Green pebbles leather with gilt lettering and decorations to the spine. Very good, unrestored copy with shallow chipping to spine extremities. Bottom two corners worn. Dampstains to endpapers. Tight and square. No ownership markings. Interior clean. A nice example of this classic work.

Cloth. Condition: Good. Light purple cloth with ornamentation and titling in blind. 603 pp. With a few illustrations, MISSING illustration at page 433. An account of stock trading and finance on Wall Street, including a 'secret history' of speculations since the 1857 crash, a discussion of various rises and panics, the black Friday of 1869, etc. With a chapter on whether women speculate and those women who keep their own accounts, etc. GOOD condition, missing one illustration. Ex-library, with two or three blindstamps in the interior and a bookplate on the inside rear cover. No exterior marking. Heavy fading to the front cover and spine, with the rear cover also rather faded. Minor to moderate scuffing to the covers, with some mottling and minor soiling to the cloth. Endpapers foxed.

This copy appears to have been bound without the illustration called for on page 433. Uncommon. weight: 2.6 lb. Very good, spine sunned, front inner hinge starting. 15 (of 16) full-page lithograph plates. 8vo., 22.7x14.7 cm. 603 pp. Publisher's brown blindstamped cloth.
