Hardcover. Condition: Good. First edition. Thick quarto. 888pp. Illutrated with plates. Maroon leather gilt over beveled boards, rebacked with maroon buckram. Small owner label on front pastedown. External wear, first few leaves reinforced at the gutter with yellowing tape, title page with a tape-reinforced tear and loss of three letters of "Burlington," plates and tissue guards occasionally foxed, final few leaves with a couple of tears, a small tape shadow, and a small area of loss on the final leaf of the index, sound but good only.

The Handbook to East Africa originally published in 1893 did include a section on Uganda but this volume was the first devoted entirely to Uganda.
