Pubblicazione di un documento latino sulla penitenza del frate francescano Elia trovato all'interno del codice dal titolo Documentorum ad primos Basilicae et Ordinis annos pertinentium conservato nell'Archivio di S. Francesco in Assisi. Frate Elia da Cortona fu per lungo tempo un fedele discepolo di San Francesco che lo investi' della sua successione decretandolo in una lettera 'ministrum ordinis Fratorum Minorum'. Nel 1232 fu in effetti nominato Ministro Generale dell'Ordine e seppe acquisire meriti negli anni d?oro che videro la realizzazione della grande basilica di Assisi (di cui fu progettista direttore dei lavori), la lotta alle eresie, la massima diffusione dei Mendicanti. Con il trascorrere degli anni, il frate toscano inizio' ad essere vittima di critiche sempre piu' malevole fino a quando nel 1239 il capitolo dell'Ordine lo depose dalla carica di Ministro sostituendolo. Successivamente, per conto di Federico II, assume particolare rilevanza sua missione in Oriente nel 1240. ITA.
