These are meditations in verse on the mysteries of love, universal harmony, the freedom of man, cosmic unity, spiritual attainment, the power of consciousness, and man's place in life. According to the foreword, these poems were written during a period of ten months in 1908, wherein the author recorded both his impressions and thoughts as "he surveyed, with a mental vision approaching Universal, the wonders and glories of a Perfect Cosmos." Albert Armstrong Manship (1876-1933) lived in the Pacific Northwest at the turn of the century and moved to California in the late 1910s. In 1915, he was married at the New Thought Temple of Truth in Portland, Oregon, and in 1920 he lectured at the Society of Progressive Spiritualists in San Francisco.
