Early reprint of the October 1915 first edition SIGNED AND DATED BY THE AUTHOR. [12], 395 pages. Hardcover: H 21.25cm x L 14.5cm. Lacks dust jacket. Dark blue cloth, mild staining to front board with light rubbing to the otherwise vibrant gilt stamped decoration, gilt stamped lettering upon spine still reasonably bright but not vibrant, cloth nicked at bottom corner of front board with light abrasion to cloth at top edge of both boards. Gilt top edge. Some foxing on preliminary and terminal leaves but minimal occurrences on interior leaves; two ownership signatures on front free endpaper. Frontispiece with tissue guard and other b/w plates all illustrated by Lester George Hornby; title page opposite frontis and other pages opposite plates are strongly browned at edges. A very good- copy with the author's signature on the half-title page: "Herbert Adams Gibbons | Tunica, | January, 16, 1921.".
