Single Sheet. Condition: Very Good. Charles Turner Warren (illustrator). Original. Image: 3 1/2" X 2 5/8" on a sheet trimmed to 5 1/8" X 3 1/2"; mounted on a sheet 6 3/4" X 4 1/4". An original copperplate line engraving, with some stippling, of George III as king of Great Britain. Bust length with tied wig, plain tie, coat with Garter star, and sash over left shoulder. Drawn by Richard Corbould, from a Painting in the Possession of James Agar. Engraved by Charles Turner Warren and Published February 4,1792 by Charles Cooke, London as the frontispiece to volume I of The Senator: or, Clarendon's Parliamentary Chronicle. The print is in very good condition: clean and bright, with some faint foxing in the blank margins and one tiny and faint spot in the image. Size: 3 1/2" X 2 5/8". Fine Art Print.

Original steel engraving, measures 12.5" x 9.5" including border. Image is clean and sharp. Toning to outside edges. Bottom edge untrimmed. From William Cullen Bryant's Picturesque America, Volume II (1872-1874). A nice example of this charming view of Cincinnati from the surrounding hills. William Wellstood (1819-1900) was born in Scotland and came to the United States with his family in 1830. He and his older brother John both became engravers. While John worked in the field of banknote engraving, William devoted himself to engraving portraits, landscapes and historical subjects. He created a large body of work and gained a notable reputation in his profession.

Hand-colored steel engraving, measures 12.5" x 9.25" including border. Clean image, brightly colored. Couple stains along right edge, not affecting image. Unevenly trimmed at lower edge. Appears to have been previously mounted, tape remnants on verso of top edge. From William Cullen Bryant's Picturesque America, Volume II (1872-1874).
