From William Cullen Bryant's Picturesque America, Volume II (1872-1874). A nice example of this charming view of Cincinnati from the surroundin…g hills. William Wellstood (1819-1900) was born in Scotland and came to the United States with his family in 1830. He and his older brother John both became engravers. While John worked in the field of banknote engraving, William devoted himself to engraving portraits, landscapes and historical subjects.
