Trade Paperback. Condition: As New. Brand New in original shrink-wrap. This book is used as a textbook for instruction at various commander courses at Air University. It also serves as a helpful reference guide for commanders in the field, providing general guidance and helping commanders to clarify issues and identify potential problem areas. Primary authority, much of which is cited in this edition, should first be carefully reviewed and used as the basis for action on specific cases. The United States is founded upon the Constitution, the rule of law that stems from the Constitution, and the institutions designed to preserve and protect the law-including the armed forces. Our respect for the law is a reflection of our values as a nation Military commanders hold a special position of authority under the law. Today's commanders must make decisions in an environment of increasingly complex laws, rules, and regulations both nationally and internationally. The Military Commander and the Law is widely-recognized as a valued resource for leaders at every level and as a first-stop for commanders who need insight into the challenging legal issues that confront them. After reviewing the materials in this publication, a commander's next stop is the local staff judge advocate, who will provide personal assistance resolving specific issues. Together, commanders and judge advocates are partners in safeguarding good order and protecting our Nation's most-cherished freedoms.

Add to basketSoft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original staple-bound colour illustrated wraps 15x22cm, with a striking aerial view of fighters flying over Kuwait City to the front, and various KAF and air base crests to the back 15x22cm. Printed by Al-Assriya Press. 32pp including royal portraits and several colour photos. Covers very good, interiors near fine. Undated but c1993 (reference on p30). This appears to have been produced to present a message of resilience to the Kuwaiti people and the outside world that although the Kuwait Air Force experienced serious damage during the Gulf War, it is learning lessons from that, and quickly rebuilding. It opens with a history from Phase 1 beginning in 1953 with the launch of the Kuwait Flight Club for amateurs, to Phase 4 beginning in 1990/1 in response to the Gulf War. The list of Commanders is brought up to date with Brigadier-General Saber M. Al-Suwaidan, who replaced Major General Dawood S. Al-Ghanim in 1992, and wrote the Introduction. A list of aircraft since 1953 (grouped into fighters, transport, helicopters, training) identifies those still active, with several full-page photos indicating their numbers and the date they entered service. A table shows the number of hours and missions flown from Saudi Arabia broken down by aircraft type and the various phases of Desert Shield and Desert Storm, naming the craft and pilot shot down. It ends by assessing the status of the KAF after liberation and its rebuilding, illustrated with 3 full-page photos showing the extent of devastation. Rare: recorded on Worldcat without locations (OCLC 804738000). Not recorded on Library Hub.
