Card With Plastic Comb Binding. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Programme of a festival held in Bradford in 1962 to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the English composer Frederick Delius, born in Bradford in 1862. 102pp illustrated with black and white photographs and drawings and contemporary adverts. Colour portrait and short biography to the opening pages. Card covers marked and creased, with small broken section of comb to base, otherwise good copy with no inscriptions. Size: 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Book.

Spiral Bound Paperback. Condition: Fine. First Edition. This very scarce item is in fine unmarked condition, spiral bound in white printed card and measures 31cms tall by 25cms wide. This programme is a record of the extensive musical festival that was organised in Bradford on the centenary of the composer's birth. The Artistic Director was Eric Fenby who had been the amanuensis to Delius in his later years and was responsible to the completion of many pieces that the composer was unable to notate due to ill health. Fenby contributes an essay 'Delius As I Knew Him' There is a a piece on Rudolph Kempe who was to conduct the Royal Philharminic Orchestra in a Choral and Orchestral Concert in the presence of H.M. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. and much else during a full week of concerts and lectures. Ref W1 Size: 102pp.

Two volumes, 8vo., pp.ix,149;vii,183, olive hardcover, gilt, pictorial endpapers, b/w frontispiece, 10 further b/w illustrations to volume I, 5 further b/w illustrations to volume II; volume I contains ink inscription to front free endpaper verso, and is very slightly rubbed to extremities, otherwise very good indeed, volume II contains editor's ink inscription to front free endpaper verso and signature to title and is very lightly rubbed to extremities, otherwise very good indeed, both in unclipped pictorial dust jackets which are lightly shelf-worn and very slightly soiled but otherwise very good.

Volume 1 has previous owner's small address label stuck to the top right hand corner of the titlepage and a gift inscription to the verso of the front free endpaper.There is a slight touch of spotting to the fore edge. Volume 2 has a hint of spotting to the fore edge otherwise a firm, clean set in clean but price clipped dustwrappers.
