Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 3rd Edition. A well-preserved copy of Life and Letters of John Cairns, D.D., LL.D. by Alexander R. MacEwen, published in London in 1896. Bound in original maroon cloth with attractive deckled-edge pages. Features a frontispiece portrait of John Cairns with original tissue guard intact, along with a facsimile of his signature beneath the image. A bookplate dated 1905 is neatly affixed to the front endpaper, adding a touch of historical character. Condition is very good for its age. The binding remains tight and secure, and the interior is clean and free of writing, markings, or highlighting. Light signs of wear and aging are present, primarily at the head and tail of the spine, along with very slight bumping to the corners. A handsome and collectible late 19th-century volume, ideal for collectors of theological works and historical biographies. (BR) Shelf 347.
