The first edition of "Discoverers of the Cook Islands." was published in 1973 and was "Bulletin 1" from the Cook Islands (CI) Library and Museum. In 1976 this "second revised and augmented" edition was produced, with the author noting that an inclusion was an article by Dr W G Coppell on CI nomanclature and early European contact, received soon after the initial publication. The Bulletin studies the history, discovery and naming on the many islands in the Cooks group. Eighteen chapters cover individual islands, collective names and a group history. Four appendices examine geological history, cultural evolution, island names listed alphabetically, first European discoveries plus an extensive biblioigraphy. 102 pages, numerous b/w maps and drawings. Yellow card covers with art illustration to front are VG+ with black fabric spine binding, small correction slip pasted in lower title page, internally NF, no inscriptions.
