Sa veuve, Marie-Chaude Hamchari, née Vigneau, fut à l'initiative de l'AMFP, dont le premier projet fut la construction d'un hôpital souterrain portant le nom de son mari, dans le camp de réfugiés d'Aïn Al Héloué, près de Saïda ; sa construction débuta en mai 1977. / Mahmoud Al Hamchari was the first Representative of the Palestine Liberation Organisation - PLO in France.
