The book is bound in red cloth with title and author stamped in gilt on the spine. Thin line of foxing on the top cover edges. There is a small red star debossed on the back cover. Sprinkling of foxing on the top page edges. Otherwise, the book is clean, tight and unmarked. The dust jacket is in very good condition with a .5" tear on the head of the spine panel and several small chips on edges. It is unclipped with no original price indicated. The author was a Ukrainian hear surgeon who pioneered several open hear procedures. 248 pp.
