Condition is downgraded to Fair because the pages are extremely brittle & fragile: title page & table of contents have come completely detached, & others threaten. Heavily tanned, but unmarked. Both hinges intact, but cracked at gutters following endpapers. Heavy rubbing to both ends of spine, with some fraying & cloth loss. Bumped corners. However I can tell you this is a hardcover published by Lewis's in Liverpool (date not stated) as part of The Ranelagh Library series. Translated by Dr H W Dulcken, the book 377 pages and no illustrations - just text. The book has a straight spine and sharp corners, with lightly softened spine ends. The boards are blue and stained to the front panel as you can see. There is heavy toning to the page edges but the interior text block is clean.
