Two vintage double-weight photographs of actor Andy Devine aboard his boat by photographer Ray Jones, circa 1935. Both photographs with Jones' photographer stamps on the verso, one with a studio stamp for Devine, and one with a mimeo snipe on the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Andy Devine appeared in over 170 films from 1926 until his death in 1977. Best known for his roles in westerns, he played Roy Rogers sidekick Cookie in ten feature films, as well as appearing in "A Star Is Born" (1937), "Stagecoach" (1939), "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" (1962), "How the West Was Won" (1962), and voiced Friar Tuck in Disney's "Robin Hood" (1973). 8 x 10 inches.
