It invites readers to step into the world of Trinity College as it was in the first decade of this century through the reflections of students who attended the university during those years.Within its pages lie the stories of twenty-eight graduates from a mix of diverse backgrounds whose experiences may dispel the myths of what it means to be a 'Trinity student'. The collection reveals the rapidly changing world of the early 2000s. This was a time of the internet revolution, when social media first affected student life, when mobile phones and laptops became ubiquitous, when handwritten work was passing into history, when The Buttery closed its doors - and all this coming against the backdrop of an overheating then imploding Irish economy. This kaleidoscope of recollections captures a student body in transformation and features stories of personal discovery and achievement against the odds. For some it proved a life-changing era when sexual, racial or class barriers were confronted. This volume concludes a remarkable half-century journey, portraying the lives of others, and of ourselves.

Paperback. Condition: New. An Integrated Approach to Family Work for Psychosis is a manual for using cognitive behavioural approach to working with families of people with severe mental illness. The authors, all experienced clinicians, discuss the various core components of family work, including what constitutes family work, when it might be offered, and how and where it might be applied. As well as these core concerns, the authors also look at reframing challenges and overcoming common personal and external barriers to effective family work. Each chapter can be read individually or as part of the integrated manual. The central argument of the book is that family work must be individualised and it offers a clear approach to engaging and working with families to ensure that this happens, including guidance on how to link components of a service user's plan with their family's strengths and strategies for reducing stress. The book addressed both theory and practice, and concentrates on the experience of mental illness for the service user and their family, providing a focus for intervention.Exploring family work as an integrated psychosocial and educational support strategy, this manual will increase the confidence and competence of new family workers - mental health workers, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists - and broaden the knowledge of those already working in the area.

Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Hardcover tall, thick octavo of 9 5/8 inches tall. Antiquarian book of grayish white pebbled leatherette, stamped in red and black on the cover and the spine. The cover illustration is of a woman in an apron holding a steaming platter containing a covered dish, with a lobster and a pot of boiling water in the foreground. The book is not a salesman's dummy but the complete text of three books in one volume, replete with black and white and colored illustrations, although I think some of the illustrations are missing, as the final page says the book cotains 610 pages with the illustrations added in the last folio at the end , after the 578th page. The pagination ends at page 578. It doesn't appear to have 16 to 32 leaves missing at the end, but it is hard to be certain. I believe that they were never added. There are many illustrations throughout the text, and a list of illustrations at the beginning, lacking page numbers. The book is poor to fair only, With the cover separated from the rear of the spine and folded around the front. The first 8 pages are loose sheets, but the rest are still firmly attached to the intact spine under the cover. The paper is of very poor quality and is edge tanned through out, and very brittle, with tiny chips tending to break off as the pages are turned. However it is clean and all there, with the possible exception of the afore mentioned illustrations, and still fully readable throughout. This is a scarce antiquarian cookbook, with most of the available copies listed as salesman's dummies. This one has the full text. It is kind of a community cookbook, as the author states that she is assisted by one thousand Homekeepers, and most of the recipes feature initials of the contributors. The text and recipes are "approved and endorsed by A. Chabrison, for ten years chef of The Union League Club, Chicago, now of The Grand Pacific Hotel." 578 pp. Cookbook, Antiquarian, Scarce original, Community cookbook.
