Day-Lewis, was an Anglo-Irish poet and the Poet Laureate of the United Kingdom from 1968 until his death in 1972. He also wrote mystery stories under the pseudonym of Nicholas Blake]. Illustrated by Edward Jeffrey Irving Ardizzone, CBE RA (16 October 1900 - 8 November 1979), who sometimes signed his work "DIZ", was a British painter, printmaker and war artist, and the author and illustrator of books, many of them for children.

Concludes with Coretta King's words : " I would challenge you today to see that his spirit never dies and hat we will go forward from this experience which to me represents the crucifixion - on toward resurrection and redemption of his spirit. We must carry on . . . " Rear wrap has the words to 'We Shall Overcome' recto, and an image of the Nobel Prize for Peace on laminated rear panel. The whole tight, bright and clean, with no markings or inscriptions and minimal evidence of handling. Spine uncreased. Front edge starting to lift very slightly. A very nice copy.
