On the verso of the main title page, the title is given in Russian and in English, the latter of which follows: "Historic & Numismatic Remarques which contain carefully collected and describer various curious and rare numismatic works, articles, auction catalogues and pertinent observations which appeared in print in the XVIII century outside the borders of the Russian Empire, that pertain to Russian coins, Medals and Monetary Circulation and are now conserved in a private collection in Philadelphia." Arefiev's Belustigungen constitutes some of the best serious scholarship on Russian numismatic literature yet published. While a catalogue of a private library, it is essential for anyone interested in the subject. Kolbe 188, 191 and 192.
