Wraps. 61 p. Includes: illustrations, bibliography. This handbook had been compiled in orde to provide all officers in the 3d Armored Division with a reference guide to use for unit and personnel protocol matters. This guide did not supercede HQDA or USAEUR guidance but rather consolidated a wide variety of sources into one handy reference. There is a unit protocol section and a personal protocol section. From Wikipedia: "The 3rd Armored Division ("Spearhead") was an armored division of the United States Army. Unofficially nicknamed the "Third Herd", the division was first activated in 1941, and was active in the European Theater of World War II. The division was stationed in West Germany for much of the Cold War, and participated in the Persian Gulf War. On 17 January 1992 in Germany, the division ceased operations; in October 1992 it was formally deactivated as part of a general drawing down of forces at the end of the Cold War." Good. Cover has some wear and soiling. Presumed first edition/first printing thus.

"The 11th Armored Division has a proud and distinguished heritage. It served with honor to defend the nation, and to preserve the cherished freedom that the United States of America and its citizens have long enjoyed. The Division was activated on August 15, 1942, at Camp Polk, Louisiana. Soon after the Division was formed and staffed, a period of intense training ensued, first in Louisiana, then in Texas, and finally in California. In September, 1944, the well armed and equipped Division embarked for Europe, landing in England for final staging and preparation for combat. In early December, 1944, the Division deployed to the continent, landing in France, and making preparations to attack German pockets of resistance on the coast of Brittany." (from Wikipedia).
