Quarter Leather. Condition: Very good. Signed Limited Edition. Small octavo, 255pp, [1]. Publisher's quarter blue calf spine, beige cloth covers, title in gilt on spine. Top edge gilt, illustrated endpapers. Blue silk bookmark. Lacking the publisher's blue cardboard slipcase and glassine. Light soiling to cloth covers, a few thu…mb marks along fore-edge. Color restoration to blue calf, rebuilt at the head of the spine. From a limited edition of 500 copies signed by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and the illustrator, Bernard Lamotte. This copy is number 135. While best remembered for his classic novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), Saint-Exupéry was an aviator and member of the French Air Force. This book, originally titled Pilote de Guerre, recounts Saint-Exupéry's experience during the Battle of France in 1940. This work received the prestigious Grand Prix Littéraire de l'Aéro-Club de France, awarded to notable members of the aviation community. Signed limited edition of Flight to Arras by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. (illustrator). Signed.
