(the introduction). Gary Panter, born in 1950, comes from the Texan punk rock scene. In addition to being a world-renowned cartoonist, he is also an illustrator for punk bands like the Black Flags, the Germs, and the Screamers. As head production designer for the cult TV show "Pee Wee Herman" (1986 and 1988), he was awarded 3 Emmy Awards.
