Leather. Condition: Very Good. None (illustrator). A beautiful author's edition of this very scarce collection of poetry by Artemus G. Bathurst. Little is known about the author - whose solemn portrait is the frontispiece for this work - other than that his full name was Artemus William Gelf Harvey-Bathurst, he was Major in the British Army, and applied for discharge due to bankruptcy in 1936. His poems include satires, sonnets and odes, and are also accompanied by several plays. A lovely thing, printed on high quality paper in red and black ink. In a padded full morocco binding with large gilt title to front boards. Externally, smart with just some minor wear to head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Unusual cloth covered endpapers. Bright and clean throughout with spotting to tissue guard only. Very Good. book.
