Pages are visibly tanned with notable foxing and stains throughout. Heavy tanning and pencil marks to pastdowns and endpapers. Notable cracking to hinges, with exposed netting. Noticeable water stain to to text-block top edge. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping and fraying to corners, visible dust stains, black marks and rubbing to surface. Notable tanning to spine with moderate crushing to spine ends. Book has forward lean.

'Up to now, the hundreds - aye, thousands - of columns of epistolatory literature which the ladies of the furbelow press have from time to time indited to "Dearest Maude," have elicited no response from that young lady. How wisely has somebody said that there is no day like Sunday for writing letters, nor Monday for - forgetting to post them! Still, rescued from the oblivion of various ridiculous reticules and writing-cases, here they are, and not the less welcome "Maude" hopes of arriving all together. A.M.B.'.
