Blindstamped Cloth. Condition: Very Good. First edition. Scarce book on New York, with 19 tinted lithographic plates and a tinted litho. title page, each with advertisements on the verso. A panoramic glimpse at Old New York, taking in fashion, boxing, Castle Garden, the theater, Chatham Street, the riverfront, the aquarium, the Fulton ferry, Central Park, horse racing, boarding houses, street life and many trades, and society, high and low, and more. 4to. 33.5 by 26.5 cm. [40] pp. 20 litho. plates including title. Tape repair to FFEP. Minor staining to outer margin of final five plates. Contemporary cloth, rebacked with plain cloth matching in color.
