Legate dunque al mare, le sirene, dal busto nudo, i lunghi seducenti capelli, la coda mostruosa nascosta dai flutti, si confonderanno e fonderanno poi con altre antiche tradizioni marine: la temibile Scilla, dalle code di serpente a spire avvolte e la cintura di teste canine latranti, le più gentili mermaids o fanciulle del mare ed i tritoni femmine.
