First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Printed in Strasbourg. [Date from the colophon.] First Printing. Avant-Propos, Introduction, Three Parts: William Blake, Novalis, Pierre-Simon Ballanche, Conclusion Generale, Bibliographie, Table Analytique [Detailed Contents]; 460 + [12] pages. The original card covers, printed in red and black, are in excellent shape, except for the slightly-sunned spine which has one pale spot; red-and-black lettering remains clear. The interior leaves are completely unopened and completely clean, despite dust-spotting on the top-edge; fore- and bottom edges uncut. There is creasing to the top inside edges of the pages, clearly from publishing. This is a lovely copy, obviously unread. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] Conclusion: "[Ils] apportent aux questions qu'ils se posent et aux problemes qu'ils examinent les memes reponses et les memes solutions.---Curieuse similitude de pensee dans trois pays, differents de langue, de moeurs et de mentalite." [To the questions they ask and the problems they examine, they come up with the same answers and the same solutions.---Curious similarity of thought in three countries, different in language, customs and mentality.] As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking.
