Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. Very scarce first edition, first printing hardcover. 230 pages with black and white photo plates. This first edition, first printing copy differs from the second printing in the following ways: higher quality, whiter paper; cloth covers are blue-green rather than Kelley green and the cover illustration is more clear; published by the earlier Lee and Shepard only, reflected on bottom of spine and title page, and notation that the book was printed at the Norwood Press. This is an important Maine book written by a hunter, trapper and steamboat captain on the Rangeley Lakes and owner of a hotel and sporting camps. Near fine with lightest of rubbing to extremities. Binding very tight and pages clean. No previous owner's names. No jacket.
