Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First published by Hodder in red covers, this slightly later edition in blue cloth was published by Hodder for Boots and therefore is not described as a first edition. Hardback, NOT ex-library. Blue boards rather faded to front, back and spine. Front gutter scuffed and worn. Corners bumped and scuffed. Binding nice and firm. Child's name (ink, small) to reverse of front blank. Periodic smudges and marks but actually, generally bright. The illustrations make this book: a personal opinion but to me they capture the period and style perfectly. Apart from the full page plates, there are numerous vignettes and the characters are full of life. The final plate of Wendy, now grown up, is wonderfully poignant. Further details available on request. (Ua1).
