Auch vor dem Hintergrund des Krieges in der Ukraine 100 Jahre später ist es allerdings bemerkenswert, dass de Ligt auf den westlichen Kapitalismus als wichtigem Faktor in der Fehlentwicklung der Revolution verwies - eine klare, ebenso antikapitalistische wie antimilitaristische Perspektive, die heutzutage weithin fehlt.
