First Thus. dj, a little rubbed on spine tips and corners, dusty and a bit discoloured, French title: La Reine des Poupees (presumably with the original colour cover illustration), deep green cloth with gilt title on front, the original ills (12 plates + some text ills and ornamental initials by DURUY) from the 1837 edition, published in Paris, for this edition hand-coloured by EDITH BARTHOLOMEW, home made book plate on lower edge of front endpaper, SIGNED IN GREEN INK BY EDITH BARTHOLOMEW, lower page edges slightly marked, vg. 4to, unpaginated. Reproduced, translated from stilted French into even more stilted and abominable English, the plates are hand tinted with velox water colours (very nicely). Signed by Author(s).
