No signs of porior ownership. Minor shelf-wear or rubbing to extremities, otherwise fine. Now protected in a new custom-made clear archival dustwrapper.

This offering is a vintage copy of The Rhine, Italy - Greece in a Series of Drawings from Nature by Colonel Cockburn; Major Irton; Messrs. Bartlett, Leitch, and Wolfensberger with Historical and Legendary Descriptions by the Rev. G. N. Wright . The book was published by Fisher, Son & Co. in 1841 and appears to be a First Edition . . . I'm not even sure whether things like that mattered back then. The book is in very good + condition (Particularly for having been published nearly 200 years ago and has no dust jacket. The book is 8 7/8" by 11" and has 80-some pages with NONE of the dozens of beautifully done black-and-white illustrations (each protected by a page of "onion-skin" paper) counted in that page count. I'd say that it might have 150 pages total. It has leather boards with gilded decorations for a binding. What a great book for the Rhine historian . . . or any artist who appreciates beautifully done black-and-white illustrations of 200 years ago. Thank you!

Both volume I and II bear inscriptions from Rev. G. N. Wright to a "Mrs. Huntley". Complete original texts with all plates, lacking only a couple of tissue guards. Average foxing to plates, ranging from virtually none in some cases to serious in a few. Bindings are Poor with three boards detached, both volumes lacking the backstrips. An excellent candidate for rebinding. Inscribed by Author(s).

An obscure, energetic architectural student magazine edited by Michael McCafferty and Peter Major, with very forward-thinking ideas, including 'mobile architecture' (such as 'Monobloc' entirely moulded plastic bathrooms), a startlingly prescient article on computing and nascent forms of artificial intelligence, Jesus Rafael Soto's concept of 'Imaginary Space', etc. Contributions by Arthur Quarmby, Yona Friedman, Jean Clay, and Marvin L Minsky. Extremely rare - only one holding at Cambridge University Library. Some chipping to edges, and a little creasing at the side-stapled spine.
