No Binding. Condition: Fine. William Henry Bartlett and R. Wallis (illustrator). 1st Edition. Original printed in 1837 by Geo. Virtue. Colored area approximately 5" by 8", total plate area 9" by 11". NOTE: One of several we have by William Henry Bartlett, we have all of these illustrations he drew four New Hampshire including the white mountains and the lakes region. The believe there were 11 of them all.

Image. Steel line engraving on paper. Later hand colour. In a Hogarth frame, glazed, with a bevelled ivory mount having triple hand rulings with wash infill. Mount window 200 x 160 mm; frame overall 320 x 285 mm. Looks to be in good condition but not examined out of the frame. 32 x 28.5 cm.

An den Rändern leicht bräunlich verfärbt. Sonst gut erhalten. Anders als die meisten seiner Kollegen reiste der Illustrator W. Bartlett in die entlegensten Winkel der Welt, um realistische und detailgetreue Illustrationen fertigen zu können. Ein Grund, weshalb er als Illustrator sehr nachgefragt war. Dieser Stahlstich wurde von ihm in der Türkei gezeichnet und Von R. Wallis gestochen. Graphik 8 Sprache: Deutsch Gewicht in Gramm: 18.
