Hardcover. Condition: VG-/G+. First English Language Edition. The noted German researcher whose work "helped lay a theoretical basis for the study of hysteria" offers a newly revised & augmented edition of his early work, which built on the work of Charcot & Freud. Here, he adopts a more "ontogenetic" approach to the problem of hysteria & explores it from the perspective of goal-directed behavior. Orig. published in German, this is the FIRST EDITION of the first English translation from 1960. Hardcover book is in Good+/VG- condition: green publisher's cloth lettered in black with black silhouette image to front is very clean inside, binding strong & straight, hinges secure, pages modestly tanned; NO writing/underlining/highlighting; not ex-lib. Downgraded due to staining/darkening around outer edges all around, with white rubbed spots, same area. The price-clipped DJ is only Good: marred by clear tap in a few places wrapping around spine, spine fading, & lesser rubbing to edges & corners; nicely protected in new mylar cover free! Our photos depict the Exact book you will receive, never "stock" images of books we don't actually have! Same Day Shipping on all orders received by 2 pm Weekdays (PST); Weekends & holidays ship very next business day.
