Spine & corners rubbed; front joint split top and bottom 2"; bit of bubbling to rear cloth; toning to endpapers and pastedowns at edges; hinges cracked but cords holding firm; dampstain to rear pastedown, and lower portion of text pages at gutters, 1.5" up the inside, receding in size to about p.182 then disappearing. Binding somewhat stressed at p. 166 causing the gathering of two pages of ads there to spring a bit but still intact. Ownership name C. V. Welch in pen front pastedown. Overall the binding is solid and the ads and text pages are clean. ; Half brown leather, and pebbled black cloth over boards, lettered and ruled in gilt. Front cover lettered: "Ianthus Jerome Rolfe, Nevada City, from, E. F. Bean. Pencil note on front pastedown, "C. L. Camp - Sept. 1971, Presentation copy to the printer from the author."
