Enthusiasts of early US history will find this registry of half-dollar die varieties produced by the Philadelphia Mint from 1794 to 1803 invaluable. This numismatic resource catalogs the vast majority of known die varieties and sub-varieties through photographs, including some of the rarest examples. The author's exhaustive research also includes a comparative table to allow collectors to attribute their coins according to the previous type table published by Haseltine. Numismatic terms are also defined in a primer. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
