First published right around that time, it is now republished for the Marine Historical Association, Incorporated, with an introduction, notes, and appendices by Curtis Dahl. Volume III of the American Maritime Library. Beautiful map endpapers, dark green leatherette binding, with gold title blockstamp of a whale. Former owner bookplate, otherwise in fine, perfect condition. The jacket has just a touch of fading to the spine, otherwise fine, not price clipped. In addition to Ely's first person narrative, the book includes exerpts from the jounals of two other men on the vessel, notes about the ship, the voyage, the crew and many illustrations.208 pp.
