    Condition: Very Good+. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good+. First/First. Two important early books addressing Children's education, especially for the gifted by Dr. Benjamin Fine and his wife Lillian. Both books are in Very Good+/Very Good+ condition with the usual shelfwear/edgewear that occurs in 60+ year old titles. Books are tight, square, and unclipped (Please carefully review photos). The respective author(s) has Signed and inscribed. Also, a TLS on Lillian Fine's letterhead included. Dr. Benjamin Fine was The NY Times education editor for 17 years, and the Headmaster of The Sands Point Country Day Scool between 1962-1971. "Stretching Their Minds is subtitled " An exciting new approach to the education of the gifted pioneered by the Sands Point Country Day School". The school closed in the 1970's after being sued by some parents accusing the school of employing unqualified instructors. All books bubble wrapped and shipped promptly in a box. Red boards with gold lettering, gray-red.
