The front cover has an inscription from Donald Hunter to Peter Hunter with an interesting note about the origins of knowledge of the disease: 'neither the Middlesex Hospital nor UCH knew about this illness until the LH them. It was a chemist of mine, Miss Cass, who came to me one day with a porcelain dish- "I can't do this stool for Ca- it's like porridge"' (the note continues, and ends with the date 3-1-62). Condition: Front cover and first few pages creased, paper covers worn at extremities of spine, internally clean, all plates intact and in good condition.
