Il poemetto, che prelude a un indirizzo artistico che ebbe tànto favore nell'Italia del romanticismo, e di cui il miglior esempio è l'"Edmengarda" del Prati, fu entusiasticamente lodato dai contemporanei, specialmente dal Monti, che il Benzone si recò a visitare a Milano, ricevendone incoraggiamenti" (Maria Luisa Scauso in Dizionario Biografico degli Italiani", vol.VIII). 150 gr.
