The first patroness listed is Mrs. Valentine G. Hall, who was the grandmother of Eleanor Roosevelt whom little Eleanor went to live after her mother's death. We we…re unable find information about a "Summer Home for Colored Women and Children" other than an online reference identifying it as organized in 1890.
