Dun, July 1939'.This bookplate features hieroglyphs, with text to the front pastedown detailing how they should be read.Major Dun's account of his travels through the Libyan Desert from Cairo to Siwa, in armoured cars, illustrated by many beautiful woodcut and linocut prints.There is also a chapter on the history, customs and superstitions of the Libyan Desert and the people who live there.Illustrated with two tipped in plates, vignette woodcuts surrounding the text throughout, sixteen pages of monochrome photographs, a folding map of the Libyan Desert, a folding photographic plate, and a colour plan of Cairo to the rear.Collated, complete.Among the many artists who have contributed to this work are: N.
