Housed in a card case, also initialled and dated by Leach, accompanied by a supplemental booklet by Yamato Bunkakan. Both are enclosed in a cloth clamshell box, in fine condition. The front free endpaper includes an inscription: Exact Reproduction of the Edo Densho Described and Translated in my Book Kenzan and His Tradition. These are Ninsei's Notes Written out in Black by Kenzan Whose Own Comments are Added in Red Ink. Additional photos are available upon request. Toning/foxing to endpapers, contents themselves clean apart from toning. Previous owner's name and date on FFEP. Dust jacket has rubbing to extremities and missing chips at spine ends and corners. Jacket unclipped and in mylar sleeve. Signed by Leach on half-title in black ink, with date 1962. Size: 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Signed by Author(s). Book.

Soft cover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Two glossy white 16pp booklets + covers. Each measures 10 in x 7.5 in. Black and white photos throughout plus details of each artist's exhibitions and biographical notes. The really collectable aspect of these is that fact that each artist has signed their names in black ink by their photos and dated the inscriptions 23rd September 1968, showing that these were signed at the honouring event in St Ives. The booklets have water staining damage to a few of the pages and covers and two pages of the Leach booklet are partially stuck together but no damage at all to the inside front covers where the artists' signatures are. Presented in a clear glossy folder with tears and sellotape repair at the bottom. Inscribed by Author(s).

Text in Japanese & English; printed & bound right to left in the Japanese style. 26 tipped-in color plates + 113 b&w photographs. Annotated by Hamada (technical notes); list of plates. SIGNED by Hamada under his photograph. Scarce 1961 edition, and enhanced by the signature of one of the masters of modern Japanese studio pottery.

Condition: Fine in fine slicase. Limited edition #254/500 copies in white cloth stamped in gilt in publisher's slipcase.
