Not only does this theory characterize the new rays, it also provides a method for calculating the field associated with them. The author explains this method and applies it to a number of problems, also demonstrating how the new theory agrees with exact solutions of boundary value problems for partial differential equations. This book will be of interest to anyone involved in the study of wave diffraction.
